This is my story: I hadn’t sung since I was 15 years old. That was because I was imagining that I couldn’t sing.
I have lip synched myself through countless birthday songs and have had anxiety whenever I needed to sing anywhere.
Then, 40 years old, I decided to sing for my wife to be. I got in contact with Jessica and she gave me the courage to dare to sing. She got me to enjoy singing and has inspired me so much. I will be forever grateful for that.
Do you feel like I did, before I attended a group class with Jessica? Like you can’t sing high notes or express feelings in a song?
Then I think, this is an excellent opportunity for you to enroll in a group class with Jessica.
I did that and I haven’t regretted it for one second. Jessica’s singing methods have helped me immensely to sing higher notes with more volume, control and ease. I also have learned how to stabilize my tone with better support. Anyone can sing, IF they are shown the correct techniques, and Jessica has those. I have taken a big step forward, since I attended Jessica’s class.
If you are not sure about your singing abilities, I whole-heartedly recommend that you muster up the courage to take the step and enroll in Jessica’s class. It is SOO much fun and worthwile. Jessica is very easy-going and competent in teaching the knowledge to the participants. If I can sing, then anyone can sing! 🙂
I just talked to my daughter about you yesterday. We talked about how much fun she thought it was, and how inspired she was! I really notice how she has incorporated your tips and advice in her singing practice!
Jessica’s singing lessons are super fun and very rewarding. I receive something new from every lesson, that will help me take new steps in my development.
She will push me in a way that invites me to come out of my comfort zone.
I will definitely continue taking lessons as long as possible. If there is anyone else out there, that would like to learn how to sing, I highly recommend contacting Jessica. You will not regret it!
Before I started working with Jessica, since my childhood, I had been scared of singing, after being treated badly by a primary school teacher. At present, I am singing in a choir and feel comfortable about my voice.
Jessica has been a fantastic support by encouraging and helping me on how to understand the function of the singing voice. She taught me how to use my voice in different ways to accomplish a variation of volume, sound colour, pitch and tone. She showed me visually how my voice actually sounds and which capacities my voice has. Not even as a child had I managed to sing a high pitch tone and now I am singing the soprano part in my choir!
This competence, combined with a marvellously lovely personality made it possible for me to dare and to learn. You will always be in my heart!
I can very much recommend Jessica.
When I first came to her, my voice seemed completely destroyed. It disappeared whenever I would speak or sing. I was taught excercises for both my speaking and singing voice to build up a well functioning technique and already after the first appointment I noticed a difference. After two appointments my lost voice reappeared again, the pain, as well as the tired feeling, in my throat dissolved and I could start singing again. I have received both theorical knowledge and practical exercises that I can use to take care of and have control over my voice.
Jessica is an extremely pedagogical teacher who has an easy time explaining singing terms and theories for people like me, who are self taught and have no idea about these things. After a few lessons, I have a much bigger understanding for the theory and also how to use it in practice to become a better singer.
I contacted Jessica because of some specific issues I had when singing. Breath support was just a riddle to me and the songs I was writing for my rock band didn’t sound the same in our practicing studio as they did at home. I couldn’t sing them properly, because at home, I sang with much lower volume. (Jessica told me that)
So, when I increased the volume, I started coughing.
She detected these problems already in the first lesson and she knew the reasons for them too, so when I left, I had an understanding for what I was doing wrong and how to address it.
She has given me a way to grow as a singer and also given me an incentive to want to expand my comfort zone.
Now I can sing both higher and lower pitch, while preserving the volume and without getting a strained throat.
Jessica is clear (tough) and honest when I’m doing something wrong and very encouraging when it’s right. She has patience of a saint and I feel comfortable in her company. It’s not always easy for me to dare to sing off pitch outside the shower, but when I’m with Jessica, I don’t have to feel embarrassed. I will keep taking lessons regularly, because I feel that I’m growing, every time I’m with her.
